Artur Blasco from Arsèguel wins Honorary Enderrock Award for folk heritage

The musician and folklorist Artur Blasco, based in Arsèguel, has been named one of the recipients of the Honorary Enderrock Awards for his outstanding contribution to Catalan music.

The 28th edition of the Enderrock Awards will honor Artur Blasco for his essential role in recovering the diatonic accordion in the Pyrenees. The awards ceremony is scheduled for March 25 and 26 at the Girona Auditorium.
Blasco's achievements include founding the Accordion Museum in Arsèguel and organizing 50 editions of the Pyrenees Accordionists Meeting. His extensive research is compiled in the collection A peu pels camins del cançoner, a vital record of mountain oral traditions.
Other prominent figures to be honored during the gala include singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz, the bands Sopa de Cabra and Lax'n'Busto, and world-renowned tenor Josep Carreras.
