The Government Subdelegate in Lleida, José Crespín, announced yesterday the comprehensive renewal of the N-260 pavement between Pont de Bar and Martinet starting next April, responding to increasing user complaints.

Complaints about the poor state of conservation of the Pyrenean Axis (N-260) on the stretch connecting Pont de Bar and Martinet have increased considerably due to the appearance of dozens of deep potholes. This deterioration accelerated at the beginning of the year due to intense cold and the continuous use of potash to prevent ice sheets.

The situation has been worsening, and so have the complaints, which has forced the initiation of provisional patching to ensure driver safety.

Given the worsening situation, State Roads is carrying out provisional patching to improve driver safety. However, the definitive solution will arrive with the comprehensive pavement renewal.
The renewal announcement was made by the Government Subdelegate in Lleida, José Crespín, who confirmed that the works will begin in April. This investment is part of the agreement signed in 2024 between the State and the Generalitat to allocate 260 million euros for the improvement of the N-260.
