A total of eleven business and tourism organizations from the Pyrenees have signed a manifesto denouncing that the region lacks a clear future project, especially at the economic level.

The adherence of the Associació d'Hostaleria de l'Alt Urgell (AHAU) to this manifesto joins ten other organizations, including Empresariat Cerdanya, Pallars Actiu, and the Grèmi d'Ostalaria dera Val d'Aran. The signatory entities accuse the administrations of managing the area "like a postcard, without an ambitious vision and without sustained strategic commitment."

The Pyrenees cannot continue to be the permanent renunciation on the part of the higher administrations.

The document was made public coinciding with the start of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The organizations recall that the Pyrenees-Barcelona bid for the 2026 and 2030 editions was discarded due to a lack of political consensus.
Local entrepreneurs argue that the mountain regions have "margin" to host major events, thanks to technological improvements in ski resorts. They criticize that, compared to the Barcelona area, when a project is centered in the Pyrenees, "everything seems more debatable, more fragile, more dispensable."
