Civil Protection maintains the Inuncat plan alert activated in anticipation of heavy rain on Monday, especially in the western and northern regions of the country.

The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) warns that between midday and midnight, over 20 liters per square meter could be exceeded in just half an hour in a significant part of the territory. The areas most likely to experience these showers are Alt Urgell, Alta Ribagorça, Cerdanya, Noguera, Pallars Jussà, and Pallars Sobirà. These episodes could be accompanied by thunderstorms and severe weather phenomena, such as large hail.
Given this situation, Civil Protection recommends exercising extreme caution during any travel and outdoor activities. The public is urged to stay away from rivers, streams, and ravines, and to avoid crossing them even if they carry little water. Warnings are also issued about the risk of floods, and minimizing vehicle use is advised, as cars can be swept away by even shallow water.
The yellow weather hazard warning is in effect for the entire interior of Catalonia and will remain active from 2:00 PM on Monday until 2:00 AM on Tuesday. The maximum hazard level is set at 3 out of 6.
In the Valencian Community, the yellow alert remains in the northern half, with potential rainfall of up to twenty liters per hour, accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and strong wind gusts. In the Balearic Islands, more stability is expected, except in Menorca, where there is an orange alert for 'rissagues' throughout Monday, with sea level fluctuations exceeding one meter.
During Sunday's episode, the emergency number 112 received 863 calls, of which 484 (56.08%) were for incidents related to floods. The Tarragonès region accounted for 43.10% of these calls, followed by Baix Penedès with 36.33%.
In case water enters basements, Civil Protection advises moving to upper floors and calling 112 if assistance is needed. It is also recommended to check drains and downspouts to ensure proper water evacuation.
