The central events of the Saint Sebastian Patron Saint Festival in La Seu d'Urgell begin on Monday, January 19, with the awards ceremony for the 6th cover contest and the 2nd micro-story contest at the Brotherhood's premises on Garriga i Massó street.
Immediately afterward, at 8:00 PM, the inaugural proclamation will be delivered by Marta Pujantell, journalist and director of RàdioSeu, coinciding with the municipal station's 40th anniversary. The main day is Tuesday, January 20, a holiday in the city, featuring the solemn mass at the Cathedral of Santa Maria d'Urgell and the traditional town vow renewal.
The program will extend over the following two weeks with a wide cultural offering open to all. Highlights include the conference 'Incidència de l'Art' by the renowned cartoonist Pilarín Bayés on Friday, January 30, and the presentation of the new album, Ocelltambor, by the local musician Arnau Obiols on Saturday, January 31 at the Sala de Sant Domènec.
The schedule also features the representation of the play Príncipe azul, by the Inestable Ceretana company, and performances of 8 mil-4cents-noranta-6, which will donate proceeds from ticket sales to the Food Bank. The events will conclude on March 1 with a symphonic concert at the Sala Sant Domènec.
