The Town Hall square in Coll de Nargó will be the stage this Saturday, August 15th, for the performance of L’home de la Torre del Mig. This production by the company La Teatral 260 is based on the agrarian model transformation driven by Josep Zulueta in the Pyrenees region in the early 20th century. The show, which previously sold out its six sessions in la Seu d’Urgell in November 2025, now kicks off its tour to various Pyrenean towns with this performance.
The play, an original creation, features text by writers Isidre Domenjó and Pere Tomás. The title refers to the estate known as La Torre del Peu, located in la Seu d’Urgell, which Zulueta purchased in 1892 to establish an experimental farm with his own agricultural machinery. The plot centers on a farming family facing the dilemma of embracing the cooperative movement promoted by Zulueta or selling their land and emigrating to America, reflecting the social realities of the time in the Urgell region and the Pyrenees.
The professional stage production is directed by Pere Tomás and involves a team of five actors, along with professionals for music, lighting, and costumes. Carles Gascón, author of Josep Zulueta's biography, serves as historical advisor. The cast includes Jonathan Jiménez as Josep Zulueta, Pol Jové as Ferran Zulueta, Pere Tomás as Àngel, Raquel Torrent as Cinta, and Toni Zamora as Sisco. Enda Joyce composed the original music, Eloi Pla designed the lighting, Carme Rovira created the costumes, and Heura handled hair and makeup. Andreu Campillo and Jan Tomás complete the technical team.
The performance in Coll de Nargó will begin at 10 PM. Tickets, priced at 10 euros, are available at the Town Hall until August 14th, from 8 AM to 3 PM; there will be no ticket sales at the venue. The production is supported by the Town Council of la Seu d’Urgell, the Regional Council of Alt Urgell, IDAPA, and the Cadí Cooperative, with the collaboration of the Town Council of Coll de Nargó for this event.
