The intervention focuses on a section of the road, between PK 0+152 and PK 0+355, aiming to promote active mobility and ensure a continuous, safe, and accessible pedestrian route. The works include the reorganization of the carriageway with traffic lanes reduced to 3.40 m to moderate speed.
Two elevated pedestrian crossings will be constructed, one 6 meters and another 16 meters long, with access ramps. A new continuous and accessible sidewalk, 1.80 m wide, will also be built on the west side, equipped with tactile paving for guidance.
The bus stop on the west side will be relocated to improve the connection with the new pedestrian crossing and pedestrian routes. New vertical and horizontal signage will be installed, along with LED luminous beacons at the crossings.
The project also includes the renovation of affected services, such as the burial of an existing ditch with a new 400 mm PVC collector, improvements to the drinking water network, and the installation of new LED public lighting points. New flowerbeds and green areas with low water-demand species will be incorporated.
This action aims to improve permeability between the two sides of the road and strengthen the safe connection with public transport stops and municipal facilities. The project aligns with the Local Road Safety Plan and the Municipal Accessibility Plan, and is based on a technical report from the Territorial Service of Roads of Barcelona.
The initial cost of the project is estimated at €338,034.74. The Capellades City Council has applied for a subsidy from the Generalitat de Catalunya for its execution.
