The Igualada Local Police added three new officers to its force this Monday, aiming to strengthen community policing and increase police presence in the streets of the Anoia capital.

Mayor Marc Castells and Councilor for Governance Carlota Carner officially welcomed the new officers at Igualada City Hall. This initiative is part of a strategy to encourage direct contact with residents through increased foot patrols in various neighborhoods.

"I want to thank you for your willingness to work for the city and encourage you to act with proximity, empathy, and responsibility."

Marc Castells · Mayor of Igualada
These new additions continue the police force's generational renewal process. According to municipal data, the Local Police has integrated a total of 16 officers over the last two years.
