The spectacular performance of Igualada HC in the OK Liga is largely due to the high level exhibited by Arnau Martínez. The goalkeeper, who arrived last summer from CH Caldes, has played all 14 league matches so far, allowing the team from Anoia to aspire to the top positions.

His importance was recently highlighted last Monday evening, when he was again a protagonist at the Palau Blaugrana, helping the team secure a valuable draw (4-4) against Barça.

Martínez, 22 years old, began his career in the youth ranks of FC Barcelona. He later had an international experience in Italy, playing 25 matches with Montecchio Precalcino in the Serie A-1 during the 22/23 season.

Before landing at Les Comes last summer, he spent two seasons (23/24 and 24/25) at CH Caldes. Now, one of his major challenges for the first months of 2026 is to improve the team's results in the Champions League, where Igualada has only managed one victory in four matches (Saint Omer 0-3).
