The Igualada-Òdena airfield will host the seventh edition of the Adapted Aviation Day on October 10th and 11th, an initiative aimed at bringing the experience of flying closer to people with disabilities.

The event, promoted by Las Sillas Voladoras, seeks to advocate that aviation can be an accessible and shared activity. This year, 55 people with disabilities, 30 on Saturday and 25 on Sunday, will have the opportunity to fly.
Flights will primarily take place in gliders (sailplanes) and ultralight aircraft. Participants include Las Sillas Voladoras, the Club de Vol a Vela d’Igualada-Òdena, the Federació Aèria Catalana through the Aeroclub Anoia, and Air Cat Fly. All aircraft are based at the airfield, and flights will be accompanied by pilots and volunteers.
Participants come from various organizations such as Àuria Grup, Institut Guttmann, ONCE, MIFAS, ASPAYM Catalunya, Associació Esclerosi Múltiple Anoia (AEMA), Associació Anoia DCA, and Red Estable. As a novelty, independent registration has also been opened for individuals with disabilities not affiliated with organizations.
“

"What we want is for people with disabilities to experience the unique sensation of flying, without barriers or obstacles, and for this experience to empower them, providing an experience that can also have an important therapeutic component and, at the same time, demonstrating that aviation is also for everyone."

Carlos de Albert · President of Las Sillas Voladoras
The event maintains the essence of previous editions, with flights during the mornings and afternoons, and a communal lunch at midday for participants, families, pilots, and volunteers. A large team of volunteers will ensure safety and accessibility.
Additionally, during waiting times, there will be a bar service and entertainment activities such as Exoquad rides. The event is supported institutionally by the Ajuntament d’Igualada, the Ajuntament d’Òdena, the Diputació de Barcelona, Aeroports de Catalunya, the Federació Aèria Catalana, the Consell Comarcal de l’Anoia, and the Consorci de l’Aeròdrom d’Igualada-Òdena.
Since its first edition, the initiative has worked to bring the world of aviation closer to disability, advocating for universal accessibility and highlighting sport, leisure, autonomy, and shared emotions.
