The city of Igualada has been the venue for the first Autumn School of the Forum of Local Ombudsmen, Defenders and Defendresses of Catalonia (FòrumSD), a training initiative coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the local Ombudsman's Office.

The meeting, which lasted two days, served to address key challenges such as the application of artificial intelligence, administrative mediation, and guarantees in e-administration. The FòrumSD aims to consolidate an annual space for training and exchange of experiences to improve the defense of citizens' rights and the right to good administration.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Ombudsman's Office of Igualada, a tribute was paid to the three individuals who have held the position: Pilar Colom, Assumpta Sagristà, and Rosa Maria Sánchez. Councillor Maribel Cuadras highlighted the institution's trajectory, stating that "annually the Ombudsman's Office handles more than 200 complaints, inquiries, and requests, serving as a body that helps us do our job better and reach where we cannot".
The event was attended by the Minister of Justice and Democratic Quality of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Ramon Espadaler; the mayor of Igualada, Marc Castells; and the president of FòrumSD, Josep Escartín.
