The iBons campaign for youth organized by the Igualada City Council generated an economic impact of 82,000 euros on local commerce, despite being 13 days shorter than the previous edition.

The Councillor for Economic Dynamization of the capital of Anoia, Jordi Marcè, presented the data today confirming the consolidation of the initiative. A total of 1,800 purchases were registered using the discount vouchers, maintaining figures similar to last year, according to the council.

"Although this year the campaign was thirteen days shorter at the request of the entities, we have maintained the economic impact at 82,000 euros."

This year's campaign saw the participation of 63 businesses, five more than the previous edition. Marcè highlighted that the generated benefit was “more distributed among different businesses” thanks to the implementation of a cap on the number of iBons that each establishment could redeem before the Christmas holidays.
The initiative was aimed at residents of Igualada aged between 16 and 25 years. Out of approximately 5,500 young people registered in this age group, a total of 1,150 actively participated in the campaign, a fact that the City Council considers a success for having encouraged this segment of the population to enter local shops.
