Athletes from Montbui, Raquel Grados and Imanol Pérez, achieved bronze medals at the Special Olympics held in Tarragona. Raquel won bronze in tennis, while Imanol secured it as part of the Club Handbol Igualada Special team.
These inclusive sports games brought together over 1700 participants from more than 60 Catalan clubs and athletes from 10 different countries. The representatives from Montbui competed at a high level, emphasizing the significance of inclusive sport beyond the results.
This year's edition of the Special Olympics featured 15 adapted sports and disciplines, including athletics, swimming, basketball, football, tennis, padel, sailing, handball, gymnastics, badminton, cycling, table tennis, petanque, and the Young Athletes program.
The Special Olympics once again served as a space for sportsmanship, promoting participation, equal opportunities, and the values of camaraderie and perseverance.
