The Government of Catalonia officially launched the Territorial School Council of Alt Pirineu and Aran this Wednesday in Tremp, creating a new platform for regional educational consultation.

The meeting took place at the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia, bringing together students, parents, and local authorities. This council is the twelfth of its kind in Catalonia, marking a significant step towards administrative independence from Lleida for the mountain regions.

"Education is an absolutely transversal issue and society must be able to provide the criteria it considers appropriate to improve."

Sílvia Romero · Government Delegate in Alt Pirineu
Led by Carlota Valls, the council will meet every three months. The first session focused on addressing the climate crisis within schools, aiming to translate local feedback into effective public policies for the Pyrenees and Aran regions.
