Emergency teams from the Pompièrs d'Aran have lifted the search operation in the off-piste area of Baqueira Beret after an avalanche trapped a skier who later died.

The young skier who was trapped died overnight due to cardiorespiratory arrest, after being transferred in critical condition to the Vielha Hospital.
Emergency teams spent all of Monday searching the avalanche zone for a possible second victim, as another ski had been found in the Dossau ravine.
After confirming that the found ski belonged to a rental client from the previous season, the Pompièrs ensured that there were no additional victims.
The area affected by the avalanche, approximately 200 meters long, showed recent traces of skiers, which necessitated an exhaustive search before closing the operation.
