Catalan cinema registered the second-best audience share in history during 2025, reaching 5.47% of total spectators in Catalonia, according to data from ComScore and the ICEC.

The 5.47% audience share, provided by the Institut Català d'Empreses Culturals (ICEC) based on ComScore data, represents the second-best figure in the last three decades, only surpassed by the 7.84% achieved in 2024. However, the total number of tickets sold in original version, dubbed, or subtitled in Catalan did not reach 700,000, contrasting with the one million tickets sold the previous year.
This result consolidates the growth that Catalan is experiencing in cinema, as the average for the first two decades of the century was only 3%. In 2022, the film Alcarràs by Carla Simón boosted the share to 5.2%, and in 2024 it soared thanks to successes like Casa en Flames and El 47, which found continuity with Wolfgang last year.
Provisional data for 2025 indicates that 646,328 tickets were sold. Of these, half were for original version films (311,178). Dubbing registered the lowest figure in the historical series (151,979), while projections subtitled in Catalan reached higher levels than ever, with 183,171 spectators.
The film Wolfgang, an adaptation of the novel by Laia Aguilar and directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera, was the most-watched Catalan title of the year. This film is confirmed as the second most successful film shot in Catalan in Spain's history, only behind El 47, surpassing classics such as Plaça del Diamant or Pa Negre, according to ICAA data.
