Parents in Esparreguera are raising alarms over the safety of the school transport service managed by Monbus, following a January 13 accident that left several students injured without immediate notification to families.

The complaints include shattered windows, faulty seatbelts, and worn-out tires on buses serving local schools. The situation peaked when a bus on line 126 crashed, causing minor injuries like whiplash to students, an event that families only learned about later through their children.

"We should not normalize Monbus's inability to provide a proper service."

Juan Jurado · Mayor of Esparreguera
Mayor Juan Jurado has urged the Baix Llobregat County Council to penalize the company or find a replacement. The service currently provides transport for 233 students attending schools such as Pau Vila, El Cairat, and El Castell.
