The consumer association FACUA-Consumers in Action has formalized the complaint before the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 against the promoter Live Nation for imposing management fees reaching 66 euros on ticket sales for the concerts of the singer Rosalía, scheduled for March and April in Madrid and Barcelona.
The promoter engages in an abusive practice by setting a price according to supply and demand, generating a feeling of insecurity among consumers.
In addition to the fixed fees, FACUA has also highlighted the additional surcharge imposed by tickets called 'Platinum', whose price dynamically varies based on supply and demand. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs stated that it analyzes “any possible non-compliance with consumer regulations,” although Live Nation has stated that it has not yet received any official notification regarding this complaint.
This is not the first time the consumer association has taken action against the promoter. FACUA had previously denounced similar practices for concerts by international artists such as Lady Gaga and AC/DC. It is worth noting that last October, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs opened a sanctioning file against a major festival promoter following irregularities previously reported by FACUA.
