Singer and songwriter Júlia Collado Riu, previously known as Iris Deco, reveals that Navarcles Lake, located in Bages, is her favorite retreat for finding artistic inspiration and answers.

Collado Riu decided to abandon the alias Iris Deco, under which she released the album Golden (2021) produced by Ferran Palau, as she felt a great dissociation between her identity and her artistic expression.

"I felt a great dissociation because it wasn't coherent to make such honest music and suddenly use another name."

Using her real name, she released Z nombre complex (2024), a more experimental work, with lyrics mostly in Catalan and produced by Toni Llull. This change reflects her search for roots and purity, linked to her hometown, Navarcles.

"Since I was very young, silence and stillness have given me the answers to all the questions I have been asking myself."

The artist considers water the element that has given her the most “sense of home,” a metaphor present in her work, such as the song She dives into. Although she does not visit it as often now, Navarcles Lake remains her space for recording inspiration and revelations, whether in the form of melodies or conclusions.
