The City Councilor for Public Safety in Manresa, Anjo Valentí, stated that the capital of Bages remains a safe city according to the Ministry of the Interior's 2025 year-end data.

The latest report shows a significant decline in violent robberies and home burglaries, which officials attribute to increased police pressure. However, petty thefts and sexual offenses have seen an upward trend in the statistics.

"Manresa continues to be a safe city. In fact, there is a reduction in crimes that can be prevented with police pressure."

Regarding sexual crimes, Valentí noted that 95.8% of cases involved perpetrators known to the victims, often occurring within private homes. This high percentage suggests that while reporting has increased due to social awareness, street prevention remains a challenge for local authorities.
