The city of Manresa celebrated the Carnival Cup this weekend, a youth football initiative that brought together 41 male and female teams at the Pirinaica and Balconada fields.

Taking advantage of the break in the Catalan Football Federation leagues, Pirinaica coordinator Rubén Cervilla Hernández promoted three tournaments to maintain sporting activity. The competition had the support of local figures such as Jorge de la Luz, José Manuel Carnevali, and Francisco Borrego.
In the women's category, the Super Girls Carnival Cup crowned Castelldefels B as champions after defeating Gimnàstic de Manresa in the final. The tournament grouped U-12 and U-14 teams to ensure viability, featuring clubs like Artés, Òdena, and Cardona.

"I have had the support of many people from Balconada, but I ask for more institutional support for these competitions from bodies like the City Council."
