The Mayor of Manresa, Marc Aloy, pledged this Saturday to find a new institutional formula to ensure the continuity of the annual gathering for citizens living outside the city.

The 50th meeting of Manresans living abroad marked the end of an era for the private group that has organized the event since 1975. The organizers cited a lack of generational renewal as the primary reason for ending the tradition during the Festa de la Llum festivities.
The participants visited the new Ampans residence in the la Parada neighborhood, a building designed by the renowned RCR Arquitectes. Toni Espinalt, director of the non-profit, led the tour of the facilities which concluded with a lunch at the Divers restaurant.

"We will work to ensure this farewell becomes a new beginning through the municipal company MATMUSA."

The future initiative, potentially titled Manresans in the World, is expected to be managed by the municipal company MATMUSA. The goal is to preserve the emotional bond of those born in Manresa who have moved away for various reasons.
