The 54% increase in three years is attributed to subscription discounts and free travel for young people, according to the Manresa City Council.

The urban bus service in Manresa registered a new historic record in 2025 with 3.3 million passengers, thanks to fare bonuses and the incorporation of four new electric vehicles.

The continuous increase in public transport users in the capital of Bages has allowed the city to surpass the 3 million passenger mark for the second consecutive year, a figure that hovered between one and two million since 2007. This growth is mainly attributed to the 45% discounts on the T-Mes pass and 35% on the T-10, in addition to free travel for young people aged 16 to 18 with the T-Jove 18 and T-16 passes.

"In just three years we have seen a 54% increase in passengers. This has not happened in any other city in the country. Every time we discuss it with other cities and with the AMTU, they take us as a reference."

Marc Aloy · Mayor of Manresa
The data presentation took place on Friday morning at the Passeig del Riu, where Mayor Marc Aloy, accompanied by Councillor Carles Garcia and Sagalés representative Ramon Sagalés, showcased one of the four new electric buses. With these additions, the fleet of 22 vehicles now includes twelve electric and seven hybrid buses, meaning more than half of the fleet is electrified.
The mayor emphasized the impact of mobility policies, highlighting that the 54% increase in passengers in just three years is a unique case nationwide. Furthermore, he confirmed that the route changes implemented to convert Guimerà street into a pedestrian zone have not generated any complaints among users. The City Council has invested 8.2 million euros in the service over the last three years.
