Operators from Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) worked through the night to restore circulation on this section of the potash train line. The incident occurred on April 19, 2026, when a group of activists from Revoltes de la Terra dismantled parts of the track.
“"A complaint will be filed; the events are very serious. Protest is legitimate, but this action is punishable. It is sabotage."
In addition to the complaint from the Government, the Callús City Council has also announced that it will take legal action for the damage caused in the municipality. The damage includes a damaged wall and barricades made of stones and branches on the cemetery road, as part of the protest against the mining multinational ICL.
The action is part of Revoltes de la Terra's campaign to denounce the practices of the ICL company in the Llobregat basin. The movement criticizes the company's mining activity for alleged contaminant spills affecting local waters and for ICL's business ties with Israel.
