The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 34-year-old woman last Tuesday in Gironella for allegedly stealing a driver's handbag in Berga using a distraction technique.

The incident took place at noon in a supermarket parking lot in Berga. The perpetrator used the sowing method, tricking the victim into believing an object had fallen from her car. While the driver stepped out to check, the suspect stole the handbag from the passenger seat.
Following a detailed description, police located the woman shortly after in Gironella. Upon her arrest, officers found the victim's credit cards and 800 euros in cash that she had just withdrawn from a nearby bank.
Authorities advise citizens never to keep their PIN codes near their cards and to remain vigilant against distractions in shopping areas. The suspect will appear before the Berga duty court.
