The 3Cat documentary 'Et faran un home', directed by Mireia Prats and Joan Torrents, has been awarded the 13th Josep Maria Planes Prize for journalistic investigation in Manresa.

The Sense ficció program team collected testimonies from men who suffered physical aggression, abuse, psychological mistreatment, torture, and rape during compulsory military service (the 'mili') more than 30 years ago. This collective denunciation work has allowed these experiences, silenced for decades, to come to light for the first time.

Impeccable for its quality and, above all, for the testimonies it provides and because it addresses a complex issue in depth.

In this thirteenth edition, which received a total of 19 submissions, the most participated to date, the jury also granted two special mentions. The first was for the investigation by Diari Ara, Traspassos de diners, suplantacions i clima de terror: reconstrucció de la marxa de Manel Esteller de l'institut Josep Carreras, by Cristina Sàez and Núria Joanico.
The second special mention went to La història no explicada d'Aliança Catalana from Nació Digital, signed by journalists Joan Serra Carné, Martí Oliver, and Pere Fontanals. The award, endowed with 1,000 euros, will be presented on Wednesday, January 28 at the auditorium of the Centre Cultural El Casino in Manresa.
