The Ministry of Health, led by Minister Mónica García, activates the Veo Plan today, Wednesday, December 18, 2025, offering direct aid of up to 100 euros for visual correction systems for children under 16.

The direct subsidies, announced yesterday by the Ministry of Health, amount to a maximum of 100 euros per beneficiary and are intended to cover the cost of essential optical products. These include basic frames with organic prescription lenses with anti-reflective coating, contact lenses, and the necessary maintenance solutions for one year.
The initiative is part of the Veo Plan and has been described by the Ministry as "an exceptional measure" addressing a public health need. The main goal is to eliminate economic difficulties that restrict children's access to visual correction.

"Today we culminate one of the most ambitious projects we have at the Ministry of Health, which is to provide glasses and contact lenses to the children of this country, more than half a million children who need glasses or contact lenses through public healthcare."
