The Sants station in Barcelona experienced a climate of uncertainty and delays this Friday morning with the partial resumption of the Rodalies service, which ran infrequently after a two-day halt.

Early this Friday morning, the Sants station in Barcelona woke up to a climate of waiting and uncertainty. After two days of interrupted service, Rodalies resumed circulation on all lines, albeit outside the scheduled timetable and with delays. According to workers, normality would be progressively restored.
On the platforms, some trains remained stopped for more than 20 minutes, as was the case with an R1 train heading to Arenys de Mar. This situation generated confusion and bewilderment among passengers, who moved from one train to another hoping that one would resume its journey. Several users complained about the lack of information and inconsistencies on the information boards.

"There should be more train frequency."

This situation follows two days in which the Rodalies service in Catalonia was interrupted due to the derailment, on Tuesday, of an R4 train in Gelida, which resulted in the death of a young trainee driver, and the subsequent walkout by Renfe drivers. The drivers agreed to restore service this Friday after reviewing line safety alongside Adif.
Despite the resumption, the Sants platforms showed an unusually low turnout, not reaching fifty people during peak hours. The few passengers waited hoping to board a train to their destination, even if delayed, such as Berta, who was waiting for the convoy bound for Sant Celoni.

"At least the time on the screen is decreasing, that reassures me."
