President Salvador Illa, hospitalized at Vall d'Hebron due to an infection, maintains communication with the Government, which has delegated key functions to Minister Albert Dalmau.

The head of the Generalitat is recovering favorably from pubic osteomyelitis and has been moved from the ICU to a regular ward. Despite the hospitalization, expected to last about two weeks, Illa continues to give instructions to his team to ensure his absence is felt «the minimum possible».
By virtue of Article 6 of the Presidency Law, the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, has assumed the President's duties. Dalmau led the Executive Council meeting this Tuesday and will be responsible for responding to the opposition during the control session in the Parliament next week.

"He follows the day-to-day and the most important issues with full attention. Not only is he aware, but there is fluid communication with him. We have missed his presence, but he asked us to continue with maximum normality and that his absence be noticed as little as possible."

The Government spokesperson, Sílvia Paneque, highlighted the fluid communication with Illa, who remains fully attentive to daily affairs. Although the public agenda was altered by the official mourning for the train accident in Adamuz, the ministers have reorganized immediate issues and maintain their plans, including the approval of the 2026 budget before April.
