The award, presented by Núria Feixas, director of Ésdansa, and Jordi Fosas, director of Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, recognizes the project's intention to reconceptualize the popular dance 'Bolangera' and to re-interpret the Esbart's own language.
The eighth edition of the award, organized by the Ésdansa Festival of Les Preses and the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, with the collaboration of various cultural institutions including the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa and the Tarragona City Council, comes with a prize of 32,500 euros to be invested entirely in the production of the winning project.
The awarded project will premiere at the Ésdansa Festival 2027. Prior to its public presentation, 'Works in progress' will be held at the Figueres es MOU and Dansàneu festivals. It will also be contracted at the Fira Mediterrània 2027, the Dansa Metropolitana 2027 festival, and within the programming of the Performing Arts and Music Area of the Tarragona City Council during the 2027-2028 season. Possibilities for contracting with the Mercat de les Flors will also be explored, and several residencies are planned during its development within the framework of the Dansa Metropolitana 2027 festival.
