Joan Laporta resigned today to launch his re-election campaign for the presidency of FC Barcelona, temporarily handing over the role to Rafa Yuste.

FC Barcelona has officially activated the electoral process that will culminate on March 15 with the election of the new president. Joan Laporta formalized his resignation this Monday, provisionally handing over control to Vice President Rafa Yuste.
The club confirmed that, unlike the elections held in 2021, postal voting will not be allowed, arguing that the exceptional conditions derived from the pandemic no longer exist. However, universal census is accepted, allowing members to vote in any location.
Five voting points will be installed to guarantee the participation of members: in Barcelona (at the Camp Nou), Lleida, Tarragona, Girona, and Andorra. Pre-candidates, including Víctor Font, Xavier Vilajoana, and Marc Ciria, must collect 2,337 supporting signatures.
The electoral calendar schedules the collection of ballots starting on February 15. The proclamation of candidates will take place between March 3 and 5, and the official electoral campaign will run between March 6 and 13, just before the final vote.
