The Mossos d'Esquadra deployed several ARRO units on Carrer Casanovas in Manresa on the morning of February 5, 2026, to prepare for a scheduled residential eviction.

The police operation began around 9 AM, when Catalan police officers proceeded to close traffic on Carrer Casanovas using vehicles and installing fences secured with chains. This closure caused significant anticipation and concern among the shopkeepers who were opening their businesses at that time.
Despite the extensive security deployment, which aimed to prevent potential incidents, normal pedestrian access was initially maintained. The presence of ARRO units (Operational Resources Area) is standard practice in evictions where opposition is anticipated.
The location of the eviction is particularly sensitive, as it is very close to Plaça Sant Domènec in Manresa. An active encampment against the eviction of the property known as Bloc 8 is currently established in this square, with its execution scheduled for next Monday.
