The Manresa Museum - Museum of Baroque of Catalonia participates once again in the European Heritage Days with a calendar of activities including guided tours, open days, and family-friendly events on October 10th and 11th.

On Saturday, October 10th, at 11 AM, the guided tour ‘Baroque Treasures’ will take place, led by Illán Holgado García. This guided tour will cover two key Baroque sites in Manresa: the artistic repertoire of the Museum of Baroque of Catalonia and the Baroque heritage of the Basilica de la Seu. Illán Holgado García, winner of the 2024 Premi Berenguer de Montagut and author of the book “L’art del barroc a la Seu de Manresa”, will lead the session. The meeting point will be the Museum of Baroque of Catalonia, at Plaça Sant Ignasi 14-16, with an approximate duration of 2 hours. Advance registration is required. The activity is organized in collaboration with the Basilica de Santa Maria de la Seu de Manresa.
On Sunday, October 11th, the Carrer del Balç will be open from 10 AM to 2 PM. This medieval street, covered by arcades, preserves the essence of Manresa's old town. In parallel, from 10 AM to 3 PM, the Museum of Baroque of Catalonia will host an open day, allowing visitors to explore its nearly 200 Baroque artworks accompanied by music, audiovisuals, and light effects, offering a fascinating journey through the 17th and 18th centuries.
Also on Sunday, from 10 AM to 3 PM, the family activity ‘Discover the Museum with the Family!’ is proposed, featuring self-guided enigmas and challenges for children. In the museum's cloister, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, ‘Scenarios and Transformations’ will take place, a family activity for children aged approximately 5 to 12, where they can create their own stage designs.
At 11 AM, the guided tour ‘What Do the Stones Say?’ will lead participants through the locations of churches demolished during the Civil War, from Plaça Sant Domènec to Plaça de la Reforma. The route will conclude at the eMM2-Espai Memòries i Magatzem Lapidari of the Manresa Museum, where the exhibition by artist Jesús Galdón, ‘El que diuen les pedres, callen els arbres’, can be visited. The starting point will be in front of Espai Manresa 1522, at Carrer Mestre Blanch, 4 (Teatre Conservatori), with an approximate duration of 1.5 hours. Advance registration is required.
