Rodalies trains are currently running at significantly reduced speeds, with 110 kilometers of tracks affected by speed limits that, in some areas, drop to just 30 km/h. This situation adds to the 10 sections that remain completely interrupted for infrastructure safety review tasks, causing delays and cancellations.
Adif has identified a total of 155 points with deficiencies in the infrastructure or its surroundings. The Govern (Catalan Government), through acting president Albert Dalmau, could not guarantee 100% recovery of the network by next Monday, as the reopening depends on the progress of safety work over the weekend.

The lines most affected by speed restrictions are the R4 (with 28 points) and, especially, the R15, which connects Barcelona, Reus, and Riba-roja d’Ebre, with 39 restricted points. The limitations are mostly concentrated in Barcelona (73 locations), followed by Tarragona (51) and Girona (25).
This exhaustive control was activated following the accident that occurred in Gelida on January 20. Adif unions have reported that the work is progressing slowly because it is being carried out by subcontracted companies, casting doubt on the timely completion of key sections like the R3 between la Garriga and Puigcerdà.
