The owners of Estanc Ponsa in El Pont de Vilomara deplore the repetition of the same modus operandi and the thieves' perceived impunity.

The owners of Estanc Ponsa in El Pont de Vilomara report growing insecurity after suffering two robberies using the same modus operandi between December and February.

The first assault on the establishment, where the family lives above, took place on the morning of December 18. Thieves entered by smashing a window with rocks around 2:30 AM, taking a significant amount of tobacco. The owner, Montse, explained that despite security footage, the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) have been unable to identify the hooded perpetrators.
Although an officer assured the family they would not be targeted again, the attack was repeated with the same pattern on the morning of February 3. This time, there were three thieves, who fled when the family's son came down, injuring himself on the broken glass of the display window.

"You feel very vulnerable, you are totally unprotected. Everything that should work, doesn't work."

Montse regrets the slow police response, noting that by the time the alarm was triggered, the incident was over. Following the second break-in, which caused 2,500 euros in damage just to the glass, the owners had to make an additional investment of 3,000 euros to install security bars on the shop, which has been open for 70 years.
