A 15-year-old boy suffered a serious electric scooter accident in Vilafortuny, Cambrils, and is hospitalized at Sant Joan de Déu with a severe head injury.

The town of Cambrils is in shock following an accident involving a teenager and an electric scooter in the Vilafortuny area. The 15-year-old, a resident of Salou, fell last Tuesday afternoon on Mas del Grau street, while accompanied by a friend.
Initial reports indicate a hopeful prognosis, despite the severity of the head trauma. The minor was airlifted to Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona, where medical staff maintain moderate optimism regarding his recovery, despite the long process ahead.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, with speculation about possible excessive speed or an abrupt maneuver with the personal mobility vehicle (PMV). Although the young man was wearing a helmet, the injuries were significant enough to activate emergency protocols, leaving him unconscious during transport.
One of the questions that has arisen in public debate is the legality of the minor riding the scooter. Municipal regulations in Cambrils and Salou set the minimum age at 15 years, so no infraction would have occurred in this regard. The young man studies at the Ramon Berenguer IV institute in Cambrils.
Expressions of support and wishes for recovery have multiplied on social media, where numerous messages express solidarity with the minor, who remains hospitalized.
