Ten injured, two critical, in multi-vehicle crash involving a truck on the AP-7 in Vandellòs

Ten people were injured, two of them critically, in an accident involving a truck and four cars on the AP-7 near Vandellòs on Wednesday night.

The accident occurred on Wednesday at 8:25 PM near Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, heading southbound. The incident involved a total of five vehicles: one truck and four passenger cars.
The casualty toll reached ten people. Two were rushed in critical condition to the Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona by the Medical Emergency System (SEM), which deployed ten ambulances. One seriously injured person was also transferred to the same hospital.
Seven other people sustained minor injuries. Of these, one was taken to Joan XXIII, three were discharged at the scene, and the remaining three were evacuated to the CUAP de Cambrils. The Bombers de la Generalitat mobilized four ground units and had to extricate one person trapped inside a vehicle.
Due to the collision, significant traffic jams occurred. The AP-7 motorway had to be closed southbound for a period, and diversions were established via the A-7 road near Cambrils.
