The Diputació de Tarragona announced today that the new provincial auditorium in Reus will be located next to the Palau de Bofarull, aiming to consolidate music education and strengthen cultural centrality.

One year after the initial announcement, the Diputació de Tarragona has confirmed the definitive location of the new provincial auditorium in Reus. The facility will be built adjacent to the current dependencies of the entity on Carrer de Llovera, where the Palau de Bofarull and the Escola i Conservatori de Música de la Diputació are already located. The project foresees a capacity exceeding 400 seats and the expansion of training classrooms.

"The goal is for it to be the auditorium that the city of Reus deserves."

Noemí Llauradó · President of the Diputació
Preliminary studies are starting now, with the forecast that construction will begin between 2029 and 2030, and that the auditorium will be a reality between 2031 and 2032. To make this possible, the acquisition of between two and five adjacent properties will be necessary, covering a maximum area of 4,500 square meters. The main entrance is projected onto Carrer de Salvador Espriu.
Currently, the Escola i Conservatori de la Diputació in Reus has nearly 370 students. The new project seeks to concentrate musical training in a single location, freeing up space at the Escola d'Art i Disseny, located on Carrer de Sant Jaume. The Mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, attended the press conference and reaffirmed the city council's commitment to technical support and the analysis of necessary urban modifications.
