The technology center Eurecat Reus has opened the call to find 80 volunteers between 40 and 70 years old who suffer from mild and constant knee pain to participate in the Agartrosis study.

The nutritional intervention study, named Agartrosis, aims to test the efficacy of a nutritional supplement in reducing joint pain. Participants will benefit from specialized monitoring by nutritionists for three months at the Eurecat headquarters in Reus.

"Volunteers will be able to benefit from specialized monitoring by nutritionists for three months, in addition to a complete body composition study and two analytical tests."

Josefina Ruiz de Azua · Researcher at Eurecat's Nutrition and Health Unit
The monitoring includes three in-person visits and one telephone follow-up, as well as a complete body composition study and two analytical tests (at the beginning and end of the study). The research will be carried out at Eurecat's Nutrition and Health Unit, located opposite the Hospital Universitari Sant Joan de Reus.

"Joint discomfort, such as knee pain, is one of the most prevalent conditions in the population and represents a significant cause of disability, limiting function and mobility."

Anna Crescenti · Head of Clinical Studies at Eurecat
Those interested in participating must meet certain requirements, such as not having certain diseases (arthrosis, arthritis, or osteoarthritis), not having recently undergone knee surgery, and not consuming certain supplements. Registration can be done online through the electronic form available on the technology center's website, eurecat.org.
