The works, promoted by the Mobility and Traffic Service of the Guàrdia Urbana, will include asphalt paving during the nights of August 27th and 28th, between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, and painting operations during the day on August 29th, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Initially, the roundabout will be provisional, marked with paint and bollards, pending final construction.
Traffic changes are expected in both directions. Heading north, from Plaça de Villaroel, only trucks will be allowed access to Riera d’Aragó, while other vehicles will have to divert towards Raval de Sant Pere, via Eugeni Mata street. At the intersection with Modest Gené street, vehicles exiting will be obliged to turn right.
In the southbound direction, a barrier will be installed at Camí de Valls, allowing passage only for vehicles with parking in the affected area. These restrictions will remain in place for the duration of the works.
The new roundabout is closely linked to the construction of the new Riera car park, which will offer 340 parking spaces spread across three underground levels. This facility is expected to open in the second half of October, and the roundabout will provide a new access point for vehicles.
