This unique macabre dance, the only one of its kind in the Camp de Tarragona region, was brought back in 2001 after the discovery of an 18th-century musical score. The commemorative events will start on March 13 at the Castell de la Selva with a lecture by Professor Francesc Massip.
“"These proposals will allow people to discover the unique and non-transferable qualities of a top-level cultural manifestation."
The schedule includes an exhibition titled The Macabre Dance, the Dance of Death and the Brotherhood of the Blood, open until April 5. The dance features performers representing traditional trades being taken by death, a symbolic reminder of human equality before the end of life, performed every Good Friday.
