The exhibition Món sonor i sons de Gaudí, created by artist Josep Cerdà, opened on Saturday, January 24 at the Casa Pairal Gaudí in Riudoms, offering an unprecedented auditory perspective on the architect.

The exhibition opened as part of the Any Gaudí (Gaudí Year) and attracted dozens of visitors, including residents of Riudoms, neighbors from nearby towns, and even attendees who traveled from abroad. The exhibition is housed in the attic of the Casa Pairal Gaudí, the architect's birthplace.
The exhibition is the result of the work of Josep Cerdà, Doctor of Fine Arts, professor emeritus at the UB, and director of the Master of Sound Art at the same university. Cerdà has exhibited his work internationally in countries such as China, Portugal, Colombia, Mexico, and Jordan.

The goal of the exhibition is to understand the architect's personality and the origins that influenced his unique architecture through an auditory point of view.

The Món sonor i sons de Gaudí proposal consists of seven sculptural pieces, ranging in size from 70 centimeters to 2.30 meters. Each of these pieces emits a sound from within, recorded by Cerdà and his team, seeking to explain Gaudí from a less explored perspective.
Many of the sounds are recognizable to the people of Riudoms, as they were recorded in the municipality and its surroundings. These include the Setmana Santa (Holy Week) processions, the bells of the Sant Jaume church, the Diables de Riudoms, the sea and wind of the Baix Camp, as well as sounds of coppersmiths and castellers (human towers), key elements of Gaudí's homeland.
Due to Josep Cerdà's professional relationship with China, where he lives and works part-time, the inauguration event was attended by a Chinese delegation. This delegation included the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Barcelona, Meng Yuhong, Consul Zhang Yan, Vice Consul Wang Zixuan, and a group of the artist's students.
