The Reus City Council celebrated this Friday, February 27th, the traditional sawing of the second leg of the Old Lady Lent, an event that gathered hundreds of students at Peixateries Velles square.

This week, the ceremony highlighted local women's sports. The task was performed by Helena Quintana, Laia Badia, and Marta Gasull, captains of the basketball teams from La Salle Ploms, Pare Manyanet, and Reus Deportiu.
Students from several local schools, including Maria Cortina, Els Ganxets, and Marià Fortuny, attended the morning show led by the character Carni, who represents the spirit of Carnival.
Approximately 2,500 students are expected to participate in this weekly tradition. The final leg will be removed on April 1st, Holy Wednesday, in a public event scheduled for 12:00 PM.
