The Reus City Council emphasizes that the city is an excellent option for a “day trip” for both regional visitors and local audiences, thanks to the only interpretation center dedicated to Gaudí. Furthermore, it offers one of the most prominent Modernism routes in Europe, with interiors of emblematic buildings like the Institut Pere Mata and Casa Navàs open to visitors.
The tourism offer is complemented by local products linked to Reus vermouth, hazelnuts, and DOP Siurana oil, aiming to position the city as a getaway destination, ideal for walking its pedestrian streets and discovering its history with a sustainable vision.
“"We do not have works by the great architect, but we do have documents related to him that the commissioner of the Gaudí Year, Galdric Santana, has recently highlighted, and which will have their space in the renovated Reus Museum, which we will inaugurate next January 30."
The Gaudí Year 2026 is a strategic commemoration to highlight the magnitude of the creator's work, connected to the landscape of Camp de Tarragona, and simultaneously to discover his persona, childhood, and the inspirations that shaped his unique and universal vision.
These valuable documents are part of a donation made in 1933 by Domènec Sugrañes, a collaborator of Gaudí. The legacy includes drawings, notes, a photograph, an exhibitor card, and a notebook, considered exceptional due to the scarcity of preserved documents from the Reus-born architect.
