The renovation of the artificial turf at La Pastoreta field in Reus has now begun. In the coming weeks, improvements will extend to the Reddis fields and the annex field of the Municipal Stadium. The total project cost amounts to 546,575.03 euros, excluding VAT.
This initiative, part of the municipal investment plan for 2026, is co-financed by 50% from the Generalitat de Catalunya through grants for modernizing sports facilities. The construction work is estimated to take eight weeks, with completion anticipated during the summer.
“"Taking advantage of the typical summer break in activity, these improvements will be carried out to provide better conditions for sports practice, especially for grassroots sports."
The turf renovation is crucial for maintaining the facilities in optimal condition, given their intensive and diverse use. The municipal sports fields host a variety of sports such as football, rugby, and American football, with high hourly occupancy and a large number of users, leading to constant wear and tear.
