Depression Ingrid caused the collapse of the port structure and forced the activation of the Neucat plan due to heavy snowfall inland.

Strong winds caused by depression Ingrid broke the green lighthouse at the port of Cambrils on Saturday, January 24, leading to several incidents across the Camp de Tarragona region.

The collapse of the lighthouse, which broke at its base, was one of the most visible effects on the Baix Camp coast. This incident occurred due to the strong gusts of wind that blew throughout Saturday, prompting the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (Catalan Meteorological Service) to issue a warning valid until Sunday morning.
The incidents were not limited to the port of Cambrils. The municipality also registered fallen trees in important green areas such as the Parc del Pinaret and the barranc de la Mare de Déu del Camí.
In addition to the wind, depression Ingrid brought rain and snow. Several inland areas of Camp de Tarragona woke up blanketed in white on Saturday, causing traffic cuts on key roads.
The affected routes included the T-700, between L'Espluga de Francolí and Prades; the TV-7004, connecting Ulldemolins and Vilanova de Prades, and the TV-7005, also near Vilanova de Prades.
Given the forecast for snowfall with a level that could drop occasionally to 300 or 400 meters, Protecció Civil activated the Neucat plan. However, precipitation was expected to subside across central and southern Catalonia during the afternoon and evening.
