The Diputació de Tarragona and Reus City Council have opened the 19th edition of the CDO Awards to recognize the best extra virgin olive oils from Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre, with registration open until January 28, 2026.

These awards, promoted through the Oil Development Center (CDO), aim to recognize and promote the excellence of oils produced in the region. All oils from mills registered in the Catalonia Agri-Food Industries Register and inscribed in the Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) Baix Ebre – Montsià, Siurana, or Terra Alta are eligible to participate.
Each mill may submit only one oil, which must come from a homogeneous batch of at least 500 liters from the 2025 campaign. The oils will be classified into three main groups based on their organoleptic characteristics: Afruitat verd amarg (Bitter green fruity), Afruitat verd dolç (Sweet green fruity), and Afruitat madur (Ripe fruity).
The jury will grant one award and one runner-up prize in each category. Winners will receive 1,500 euros, which will be used to purchase the bottled oils (in 250 or 500 ml formats). This purchase allows the Diputació and the City Council to directly promote the awarded products. Furthermore, winning mills may include the recognition on their packaging labels.
Registration is done via an online form and the deadline is January 28, 2026. The awards ceremony will take place in a solemn event at the Palau Bofarull of the Diputació in Reus, highlighting the work of local producers over nineteen years.
