The bulky waste collection service in Reus has seen a significant 24% increase during the first quarter of 2026, coinciding with the expansion of availability to Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays since mid-January.

Data provided by the Reus City Council reveals that, in the first three months of 2026, a total of 3,617 collection points were managed. This figure contrasts with the 2,914 points recorded in the same period of the previous year, 2025, demonstrating the success of the measure.
Despite the overall increase in the number of collections, a 12% decrease in the daily average of scheduled collections has been observed. This improvement in efficiency is attributed to a more equitable distribution of requests throughout the week, which has allowed for reduced operational pressure and avoided service saturation during weekdays.
Currently, weekends and holidays register an average of 14 daily collections, while on weekdays the figure rises to 49. The City Council emphasizes that there is still room for citizens to make greater use of the new service days for proper bulky waste management and thus prevent abandonment on public roads.
The council reminds that the scheduled bulky waste collection service is operational every day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Requests can be made via telephone at 010 or through the online municipal services portal.
