Comunalitat Reus Sud celebrates 4 years with 'Construïm SobiraniESS' conference

The meeting at El Giny will include debates on local sovereignties, social economy, and community cultural projects.

The Comunalitat Reus Sud is organizing the open conference "Construïm SobiraniESS" on Saturday, January 31 at El Giny in Reus to celebrate its fourth anniversary and reflect on the social and solidarity economy.

The event is part of the entity's General Assembly and will serve as a space for feedback and explanation of the work done in recent months. The conference, taking place on Pere Cavallé Llagostera street, will combine spaces for debate, culture, assembly, and coexistence, focusing on community building from the territory.
The session will begin with an online presentation of the Basque project Hernani Burujabe (Sovereign Hernani), considered a reference in community processes and local sovereignties. Following this, two round tables will be held with the participation of experiences such as Valls Comunal, Vincloop del Priorat, and the Comunalitat Reus Sud itself.
The second round table will focus on community cultural projects, highlighting the role of culture as a tool for social transformation. Participants will include La Draperia de Valls, Àkrida de Tarragona, and El Giny de Reus. The closing will feature the show L'Eix de la resistència, offered by participating entities of El Giny such as TEBAC, QueCorriLaire, Amaluna, and Teatre del Marge.
The conference will conclude with a community lunch organized by El Lligam and the Associació Borraina, aiming to foster networking and collective celebration. Prior registration is required, with the deadline for the lunch set for Wednesday, January 28.
