The suspension of the eviction was confirmed this Friday morning, shortly after the Sindicat d'Habitatge de Reus called the media to promote citizen mobilization. The goal of the protest was to prevent Jennifer from being expelled from the apartment where she resides.
“"Jennifer has never had a rental contract and, therefore, is in an irregular situation in a municipally owned dwelling for which she has never paid anything."
According to municipal sources, halting the eviction now opens a negotiation process with the affected woman. Although a housing solution is being sought, it is anticipated that this will be outside the Casa dels Mestres, as the property belongs to the city council and its occupation was not regularized.
